TeachSA Connect was built because the system kept failing the people inside it. Fake CVs. Recruiter scams. Lapsed registrations slipping through. We rebuilt the hiring layer, verification first.
South African schools deserve to know that every applicant on their desk is who they say they are. South African educators deserve a platform that takes their qualifications seriously, and a hiring process that doesn’t drag on for months.
So we built one.
We don’t treat trust as a premium feature. Every educator on the platform is verified. Every school is authenticated. No exceptions, no upsells.
Recruiters take a 10 to 15% cut on the first year salary of every educator they place. We don’t. Schools subscribe; educators are free; nobody else gets a slice.
POPIA compliance, the realities of SA education hiring, and respect for the regulators that govern it, these were the design constraints we started with.
Automated review handles the heavy lifting. A human signs off every verification. Algorithms don’t hire teachers; people do.
A small founding team, former educators and platform engineers, watched dozens of friends get burnt by recruiter scams and fake CV chaos. The first prototype came together in Randburg.
Closed beta launches with a handful of Gauteng and Western Cape schools. Identity, credential and clearance verification all live from day one.
Coverage expanded to every province. Hiring pipeline and intelligent candidate matching ship together.
Still no commission. Still no third party recruiters. Verified first end to end. Pan African expansion in planning.
